Pump Station facility replacement project scheduled to start September 6, 2022
NEWTOWN, CONN. – August 30, 2022 – Aquarion Water Company continues to perform essential work on water infrastructure in Sandy Hook necessary to ensure continued system reliability. On September 6, a pump station replacement project is scheduled to begin at Aquarion’s property at the corner of Bancroft Road and Alpine Drive in Sandy Hook.
The project is designed to provide appropriate and reliable water pressure in the distribution system serving customers in the Sandy Hook area. This infrastructure upgrade is part of an ongoing program to improve Aquarion’s water distribution system and to ensure the highest quality water and service. The project is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2023.
“We greatly appreciate residents’ patience as Aquarion continues to make significant improvements to the water infrastructure in Sandy Hook,” said Mike Hiltz, Aquarion’s Manager of Capital Delivery, Engineering and Planning. “We will work closely with our customers, contractors, and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions.”
While most of the construction will be located off the road and on Aquarion property, residents should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during normal working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Marlborough-based Snyder Civil Construction will be serving as the general contractor for the project.
