Assistance when you need it most

Our Voucher Program helps eligible customers who are having difficulty paying their water bills. Customers current with their payments may be eligible for a one-time voucher to help offset the cost of their water bill.

Connecticut

Connecticut Voucher Program

Aquarion customers in Connecticut may apply through Generation Power CT for up to $50 PREVENTION assistance or up to $250 INTERVENTION assistance on their water bill.

Eligibility Requirements
  • To qualify for the Aquarion's Voucher Program, customers must:
  • Receive bills on a monthly basis
  • Be a homeowner or small business operator in Aquarion's service territory, or a contractual renter (water bill must be in tenant's name)
  • Earn up to 75% State Median Income (SMI).

Demonstrate making at least 4 payments on the bill in the past year, have a past due bill, and provide income documentation for the past 4 weeks.

How to Apply
  • Visit Generation Power CT's Water Application Portal at https://gpct.org/water
  • Submit an application through the portal.
  • If you are approved, please allow 90 days for the credit to appear on your water bill.

Massachusetts

Massachusetts Voucher Program

Massachusetts customers who qualify can get a one-time voucher in the amount of $50.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for Aquarion's Voucher Program, customers must be:

  • Receiving bills on a monthly basis
  • A homeowner in Aquarion's service territory OR a contractual renter (water bill must be in tenant's name)
  • A recipient of benefits through one of these programs:
    • Emergency Aid to Elderly, Disabled and Children (EAEDC)
    • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
    • Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)
    • MassHealth
    • Section 8 (Housing Choice Voucher Program)
    • Food Stamps
    • Fuel/Heating Assistance
    • Medicaid
    • Veteran's Benefits MGL c.115

Please note: Social Security retirement benefits alone do not qualify you for this program.
